Jennifer Carroll MacNeill has extensive experience across government, public policy, and the legal profession. In 2025, she was appointed Minister for Health, having previously served as Minister of State for European Affairs and Defence. From 2022, she held the position of Minister of State at the Department of Finance with special responsibility for Financial Services, Credit Unions and Insurance, where she was responsible for key areas of financial policy and regulation. Prior to entering ministerial office, she worked as a legal adviser to former Taoiseach Enda Kenny and served as a senior adviser in a number of Government departments, contributing to policy development and legislative reform across a range of sectors. Before her career in public service, she practised law as asolicitor before qualifying as a barrister in 2013, bringing significant legal and regulatory expertise to her work in government and public policy.
