Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill Addresses 2nd Migrant Nurses Ireland National Conference

Minister for Health Jennifer Carroll MacNeill was delighted to have been invited to address the 2nd Migrant Nurses Ireland National Conference on 19 September 2026. The Minister joined nurses and healthcare professionals from across the country to recognise the vital contribution migrant nurses make to Ireland’s health service.

Addressing delegates, Minister Carroll MacNeill acknowledged the significant role migrant nurses play in delivering high-quality care to patients and communities throughout Ireland, stressing that this diverse healthcare workforce strengthens the health service and enriches patient care.

The Minister welcomed the ongoing efforts of Migrant Nurses Ireland and healthcare organisations to promote equality, inclusion and greater awareness of the experiences of migrant nurses. She noted that creating safe and supportive working environments is essential to retaining skilled healthcare professionals and building a stronger health service for the future.

The conference brought together healthcare leaders, policymakers and frontline nursing professionals to share experiences, discuss challenges and explore practical measures to address racism and improve workplace culture across the sector.
